Peyton's Modeling photo shoot

I had the pleasure of working with an aspiring model, Peyton, in Winston Salem, NC, to help her build her model book while also taking professional studio headshots during our photo session. When Peyton first contacted me, she talked about getting into modeling, and we discussed her goals and vision for her book. I suggested that we start with a studio photo session to capture some high-quality headshots.

On the day of our photo session, Peyton arrived at the studio looking confident and ready to work! We started by discussing her outfit choices and makeup preferences to ensure that her look was consistent throughout the shoot. I love how her photos turned out, and we had a blast!

Building Your book

As an aspiring model, building a strong and professional model book is crucial to your success in the fashion industry. A model book, also known as a portfolio or book, is a collection of your best photos showcasing your range, versatility, and unique look. Building a great model book takes time and effort, but it's worth it to showcase your unique style and personality as a model. It's a competitive field, but a professional and impressive book will help you stand out.

Here are some tips on the best way to build your model book:

Hire a Professional

You want high-quality images that showcase your unique features and help you stand out from the competition. Research photographers and their portfolios before hiring one to ensure that their style aligns with your vision.

mix up the variety

Choose a variety of photos that highlight your different looks, such as headshots, full-body shots, and editorial-style shots. Your book should also include photos in different outfits and settings, as well as different hair and makeup styles.

showcase your personality

Your model book should not only showcase your looks but also your personality. Include photos that capture your unique style and versatility. This will help agencies and clients get a sense of who you are as a person.

keep your book looking fresh

As you gain more experience and work with different clients, your model book should evolve and grow. Updating your model book will also show agencies and clients that you are actively working and committed to your career as a model.
